Nestled in the heart of the New River Valley and conveniently located near I-81 is home to one of the Nation’s top rated rehabilitation centers for quality of service.

Highland Ridge Rehab Center is a state-of-the-art facility and was originally constructed in 1969 and acquired by the Williams Family in 2001. In 2011, Highland Ridge underwent a renovation and expansion project that is now complete. The progressive skilled nursing facility has 132-beds with semi-private and private rooms. The Center provides short-term skilled nursing and a specialized rehabilitation program.

Choosing a Rehabilitation Center that offers you all of the comforts of home in a therapeutic stetting is important when planning where you will recover after surgery. That is why we have joined together with our community, medical professionals and property designers to give back. The rehab addition includes dedicated rehabilitation areas, as well as an activity room for arts, crafts, games, movies, and more. We are also pleased to share The Cornerstone Cafe where individuals and families can enjoy meals.

Our specialized programs are tailored to meet your needs on your journey to wellness. A professional team works with your physician to design and implement a care plan to meet your specific needs. The team may include a Physical Therapist, Occupational Therapist, Speech Pathologist, Dietician, Discharge Planner, and Activity Director.

AQUATIC THERAPY

Aquatic Therapy incorporates Physical and Occupational Therapy performed in water. By using the resistance of water instead of weights it is very effective after an injury. It balances the amount of weight placed on the joints by exercise outside of water, and its benefits are continuous. Aquatic therapy focuses on circulation, endurance, flexibility, range of motion, balance and coordination.

Our Aqua Therapy and Wellness programs are therapeutic and have shown to effectively benefit those with the following conditions: Arthritis, Athletic Injury, Balance and Coordination Difficulties, Chronic Pain, Fibromyalgia, Joint Replacement, Orthopedic and/or Neurologic Impairment, and Osteoporosis.

No swimming skills are required to participate in this program.
